Karlskrona is one of the few locations in Sweden recognized on UNESCO's prestigious World Heritage list. The southernmost archipelago of Sweden comprises 1,650 islands, coves, and skerries, stretching from Hasslö in the west to Utlängan in the east.
The municipality boasts 15 official guest harbors, along with numerous serene natural harbors to explore. Experience the best of culture and nature!
The central guest harbor offers comprehensive services and is conveniently located next to the Karlskrona Tourist Center. You can easily reach the city's unique attractions within a short walk.
Founded in 1680, Karlskrona's well-preserved architecture and urban layout impressed UNESCO, earning it World Heritage status in 1998. Throughout the city, you’ll find elegant grand squares, and impressive defense structures that draw visitors from around the globe.
On the west side of Trossö, the Karlskrona Sailing Society provides another well-maintained guest harbor. Nearby Saltö, the former fishing port, features twenty guest berths and a popular fish restaurant, all within a few hundred meters of a lovely beach, making Karlskrona one of Sweden’s sunniest spots!
Paddle quietly along the city’s shoreline and under bridges, soaking in the stunning nature and culture within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
To the east, enjoy calm waters around the large islands of Verkö, Säljö, and Fäjö. To the west, explore Långö and the Nättraby River. Numerous kayak and SUP rental companies are available throughout the city and archipelago.
Drottningskär Citadel is a well-preserved 17th-century defense structure from Sweden’s great power era. During opening hours, tourist hosts provide activities, and a café/restaurant is located within the grounds. The Lökanabben guest harbor is adjacent to the citadel.
Aspö also features art studios, historical defense remains, and museums. Winding trails for walking and cycling offer wonderful opportunities for rock bathing along the coastline.
Hasslö Island boasts a vineyard open throughout the summer, offering tastings and tours. There’s also a local microbrewery. Two guest harbors are available: Garpahamnen, which includes a fishing museum and a pleasant café/restaurant, and Hallarna on the island's west side.
With short distances, walking or cycling is a breeze on Trossö, the central island, measuring approximately 1.5 km from east to west and north to south.
